The Clash at the Coliseum is not that great.

Here comes the feeling we all know and love, the feeling of racing season being right around the corner. This time of the year we see lots of testing, paint scheme reveals, and content/production days. We also start seeing the schedules for the series we follow. However, there's one race of the "season" that irks me. That race is the Clash at the Coliseum. NASCAR added the exhibition race at the start of 2022, and while it was fun and different, it shouldn't be a consistent thing and here's my reasonings. One, the track is way too small. There's no room for passing and the cars barely surpass 75mph. Thus, making it harder to pass and actually make any gains through the field. Secondly, it is becoming a hotspot for celebrities who don't care about the sport but are there to stay relevant and show "support" to the sport. While it's not just annoying for us who watch the sport, it's also annoying to see NASCAR feeding into the buzz to have the celebrities there to gain more fans from people who aren't fans. Lastly, it's just not great. It's a waste of money and time to host an event to watch cars not break 100mph. The event saves the teams money cause they're at a track where there's minimal damage to cars when they wreck, most of the time. If we could have a different track for the Clash, I would choose Phoenix. We could still use the same format for the Clash, just have a better faster track. Tell us about your thoughts on the Clas at the Coliseum, and if you agree or disagree leave a comment!
